Panchang
A panchang is the Hindu almanac. It gives the five limbs of the day: tithi (lunar day), nakshatra (lunar mansion), yoga, karana and vaara (weekday), along with sunrise, sunset, moonrise and the Rahu Kaal for a place. This page gathers every panchang view in one place: the daily panchang, the month panchang, and the regional panchangs followed in different parts of India.
Panchang timings change with your location, because sunrise decides when each Hindu day begins. Choose your place on any page and the times are worked out for it.

Questions about Panchang
- What is a panchang?
- A panchang is a Hindu almanac that lists the tithi, nakshatra, yoga, karana and weekday for a date, with sunrise, sunset and auspicious and inauspicious times.
- Why does the panchang differ between cities?
- Sunrise and sunset differ by place, and each Hindu day runs from sunrise to sunrise, so the start and end of a tithi or nakshatra shift with the location.
- What is the difference between the regional panchangs?
- They use different month systems (amanta or purnimanta, solar or lunar) and different year counts, so a festival can fall on different dates in different regions.
