About Gowri Panchangam

Gowri Panchangam is a traditional Vedic timing system popular in South India. The daytime between local sunrise and sunset is divided into eight equal parts, and the nighttime between sunset and the following sunrise is also divided into eight equal parts. Each part is ruled by one of eight Gowri attributes: Uthi, Amirdha, Rogam, Laabam, Dhanam, Sugam, Soram, and Visham.
