Hanuman Jayanti
The auspicious appearance day of Lord Hanuman, the supreme devotee of Lord Rama and embodiment of courage, strength, and humility.
Hanuman Jayanti marks the birth anniversary of Lord Hanuman, the eleventh Rudra avatar of Lord Shiva and the supreme devotee (Param Bhakta) of Lord Shri Rama. Celebrated on Chaitra Purnima in North India and on Vaishakha Krishna Dashami in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, it is observed with deep spiritual energy, continuous chanting of the Hanuman Chalisa, and offering of vermilion (Sindoor) and jasmine oil.
Lord Hanuman embodies peerless physical strength, sharp intellect, unmatched courage, and selfless service. Devotees visit Hanuman temples at dawn, offer Boondi and Banaras Paan, and pray for protection from evil forces, fears, and astrological afflictions (such as Shani Sade Sati).
