Welcome to Hindu Calendar - Panchang for iOS (“we,” “our,” or “us”). This Privacy Policy explains our data collection, usage, and privacy practices strictly for our iOS application distributed via the Apple App Store (App Store ID: 1187338109, Bundle Identifier: com.calendar.hindu).
We are deeply committed to user privacy, data minimization, and total transparency in accordance with Apple’s App Store Review Guidelines and App Privacy standards.
2. Information We Collect & Why
Hindu Calendar collects only the minimum information strictly required to perform authentic Vedic astronomical calculations and deliver requested app features:
GPS Location & City (On-Device Astronomy Computation)
Vedic calculations (Sunrise, Sunset, Tithi, Nakshatra, Choghadiya, Rahu Kalam, and Muhurats) are fundamentally based on local horizon coordinates. With your permission (NSLocationWhenInUseUsageDescription), the app accesses your device coordinates solely to calculate planetary events. Location data is processed locally on your iPhone or iPad, is never stored on external servers, and is never sold, shared, or used for tracking across other apps. You can also select your city manually without granting location permissions.
Device Information & Technical Identifiers
To optimize the display layout across different iPhone, iPad, and iOS versions, we collect technical device identifiers such as device model, iOS version, system language, and display resolution.
Apple Calendar Integration (Optional)
If granted access (NSCalendarsUsageDescription / NSCalendarsFullAccessUsageDescription), the app creates personal Tithi reminders and festival events directly inside your native Apple Calendar app. We do not read, transmit, or access any of your existing private calendar appointments.
In-App Purchases & Subscriptions (Apple StoreKit & RevenueCat)
When you purchase a PRO subscription, transactions are processed securely by Apple through Apple StoreKit. We validate transaction receipts via RevenueCat to unlock your premium access. We do not collect, process, or store your credit card details, Apple ID credentials, or billing address.
Diagnostics & Crash Reports
We use Firebase Crashlytics to monitor application crashes and stability on iOS. Crash reports contain anonymized stack traces and device state at the moment of a crash to assist our engineering team in patching bugs promptly.
3. Apple App Tracking Transparency (ATT)
Hindu Calendar adheres strictly to Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework.
We do not track you across apps and websites owned by other companies. We do not link your personal data with third-party data for advertising or advertising measurement purposes without your explicit prior authorization.
4. How We Use Information
- Precise Vedic Computations: Calculating exact sunrise, sunset, and panchang timings tailored to your current location.
- Calendar Synchronization: Adding your chosen Tithi events to your native Apple Calendar app.
- Premium Subscription Entitlements: Unlocking ad-free and PRO features across your Apple devices via Apple ID receipt verification.
- Troubleshooting & Performance: Detecting and fixing crashes and UI issues across iOS versions.
5. iOS System Permissions
The Application may prompt for the following iOS permissions:
- Location While Using the App (
NSLocationWhenInUseUsageDescription): Enables real-time local horizon calculations. Can be toggled anytime in iOS Settings → Hindu Calendar → Location. - Calendar Access (
NSCalendarsUsageDescription): Allows saving personal tithi reminders directly to your Apple Calendar. Can be revoked anytime in iOS Settings → Hindu Calendar → Calendars. - Push Notifications (
UserNotifications): Delivers daily sunrise and Tithi alerts if enabled by you.
6. Data Retention & Deletion Policy
All your personal settings, favorite panchang cards, and saved Kundli profiles are stored on your local device storage.
Deleting On-Device Data: Deleting the Hindu Calendar app from your iPhone or iPad immediately removes all on-device stored preferences and cached files.

7. Children’s Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
Our Application is suitable for all ages and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that personal data has been inadvertently collected from a child under 13, we will promptly delete it.
8. Security of Your Information
We maintain rigorous organizational and technical safeguards. All communications between the app and online endpoints (such as RevenueCat or Firebase) are encrypted using Transport Layer Security (TLS / HTTPS).
