Shravana Putrada Ekadashi

Auspicious shravana-putrada-ekadashi dedicated to Lord Vishnu for spiritual purification, elimination of karmic debts, and divine grace.

shravana-putrada-ekadashi is observed with dedicated fasting and deep meditation on Bhagavan Sri Hari Vishnu on the eleventh lunar tithi. Ekadashi is regarded in the Padma Purana, Bhavishya Purana, and Shrimad Bhagavatam as the foremost among all spiritual vows (Vrata-Raja).

Observing this holy day with devotion cleanses both body and soul. Devotees abstain completely from all grains, cereals, beans, and heavy foods, dedicating the day to sacred japa, reading spiritual scriptures, and singing devotional hymns. The fast culminates on the following Dwadashi morning with the auspicious Parana ritual.
